Acerca de Josh
I have two Bachelor's degrees in Finance and Economics and a Master's degree in Economics, Environmental and Social Sustainability. Additionally, I have over 5 years of work experience in the financial industry as an Analyst and Content Writer. In my spare time, I enjoy programming, reading, writing (short stories, children's stories, and a blog), running, rock climbing, and lazy afternoons at the beach! I also enjoy volunteering in the local community garden in Barcelona, the forest service in Chile, and the Rose City Rollers in Portland, Oregon. And did I mention that I have lived in many different cities and love to travel:)

As a TEFL Certified English teacher, I use the following proven methods and techniques: Direct Method: Teaching in only English with a focus on speaking instead of grammar. I will correct mistakes in a timely manner and prefer to keep class positive and energetic. Communicative Language Learning: I will teach you to communicate in real-life contexts, with the ability to express your feelings and opinions. Total Physical Response (TPR): I use TPR in my classrooms as a way to aid learning. Through acting and using gestures, we can communicate in a fun and natural way. While most of my experience is in children's education, I believe a fun environment is great for adults to learn too. My classes are geared toward making you conversation ready without fear of making mistakes! In a typical class, I will introduce you to a few new words, We will then reinforce your learning through practice and examples. We will read a story or dialogue using these words and then demonstrate comprehension through answering and asking questions. Lastly, we will review all the materials we have learned on this topic or area. My lessons can be tailored to fit your learning needs. I will create a program to help you achieve your English language goals! I provide lessons for speaking, grammar, reading, comprehension, business acumen, and writing.

Josh is a TEFL-certified teacher who is especially great with children! I've seen him teach a range of different ages and levels, always patient and positive, creating a great athmosphere in the virtual classroom.
