Hello, my name is Manuel. I'm from Spain and I love teaching. I've been teaching Spanish for 25 years. I love sharing both my language and my culture. I like to motivate my students when I teach. I make sure they don't get bored. Outside of teaching, I love cooking, sports, fishing, reading, music, and so on. I appreciate a good joke and, when I have the chance, I don't mind telling one now and then.

I lived in the United States for 25 years. I have over 25 years of experience teaching all levels of Spanish. I hold a bachelor's degree in English linguistics, a master's degree in Spanish language and literature, and a doctorate in applied linguistics.
I enjoy teaching using the communicative approach, where the emphasis is on communicative activities rather than grammar. In the classroom, I use the flipped classroom model, and when tutoring, I adapt to the student's needs while keeping my teaching philosophy in mind.
I am an optimistic and positive person with a good sense of humor. When I am teaching, I like to create a relaxed environment where we can have fun and a positive experience. My experience has shown that a positive and relaxed environment is conducive to effective learning. My experience has also shown me that it is never too late to start learning a new language. In fact, one advantage of learning a new language as an adult is our capacity to think and understand how the language works. This can make the learning process more efficient.
So if you feel hesitant about learning Spanish, just give it a try. You have nothing to lose and many possible positive experiences to gain.

El tiene estrategias para maximizar tu progreso.Manuel is an excellent teacher and you can tell he really cares about his students. He really helped me stop being afraid to speak in Spanish and he gave me really great strategies to help me remember those pesky grammar rules that always confused me. You can tell he was a college professor because he actually makes personalized lessons for our sessions, and he gives me homework if I ask for it. What I appreciate the most about Manuel's classes though, is that he really makes them fun and enjoyable. I thought it was too late for me to really learn Spanish and speak with confidence, but Manuel has convinced me otherwise.
