Acerca de Alba
I studied as a architect at the University of Las Palmas and Venice and achieved a masters in Gastronomy in San Sebastian, Spain. When I am not designing new buildings or arranging food events, I am teaching Spanish. Teaching has become a passion of mine and now I am currently
enrolling in a masters to become a high school teacher.
I enjoy every moment of the student’s journey, and nothing gives me more pleasure than to see them succeed.

¡Hola!
My name is Alba. I was born and currently live in Gran Canaria. It is said that the Spanish accent in this region is soft, slow and sweet, so If you are spending some time in this beautiful archipelago, I am sure I could help you on your journey to learn Spanish.
Together we will learn local vocabulary, expressions and maybe some slang!
My lessons are completely personalised depending on your needs and level. I like to review and practice what students have learned, so I divide the classes between the revision part with what was learned in the previous classes, another part of grammar and another of conversation. In addition, I usually leave homework, so the student has time to practice on his/her own and retain what was learned in class. I am always trying to make every class fun and more accessible to my students. I have developed different methods to interact with them and bring learning alive.
Some of the my students favourite activities include:
FLASH CARDS: This can often be the fastest way to expand your vocabulary in the shortest amount of time.
ROLE PLAY: This is a great way to practise your speech in situations that are relevant to you.
GAMES: This is always a fun way to finish the session. Spanish Pictionary is one of my favourites!

INTERACTION
I love to talk, no matter your ability. You will be talking with me in Spanish from your first lesson.
FLEXIBILITY
Lessons should be at a time and place that suits your schedule. Just let me know when you free.
SUPPORT
You can count on my help whenever you need it. I like to keep in touch with my students throughout the week to check on their progress. I know how difficult can be arrange meetings with doctors, banks and lawyers when no one can speak English. If you need my support in any meetings, I can even be there with you.
CONFIDENCE
I believe that one of the biggest barriers to speaking a new language is the worry that they won’t understand you, or that they will laugh. By regular talking in a relaxed environment, I develop my student’s confidence so that they are ready to communicate outside of the lessons.
